Catalyst Dance Masterclass Series

I have been invited to deliver and choreograph the season finale of the Catalyst Masterclass Series at the Carriageworks in Sydney on Sunday 4 and Monday 5 November 2012. Second Skin will be the culmination of work by Sue Healey & Kiruna Stamell, Dean Walsh & Helen Clarke Lapin and myself.

Catalyst aims to provide skills development and training for dance practitioners, teachers, choreographers and dancers with and without disability currently working or interested in working in inclusive practices.

The Masterclass series consists of three progressive workshops throughout 2012, during which participants will experience professional development and training from some of Australia’s leading choreographers including Sue Healey & Kiruna Stamell (Series 1), Dean Walsh & Helen Clarke Lapin (Series 2).

Catalyst Dance Masterclass series will culminate in a small creative development and an informal public showing of Second Skin with a Q & A of all participants and master teachers. I will be working with 25 emerging artists with a disability, 14 practitioners and 4 assistants who will work closely with me in the creative process. Also joining me for the final day will be live composer and DJ, Scotty B aka the Digital Assassin and collaborating on the costuming will be Stylists, Sheldon Bøger Moffatt, Roger C. Searle and Sean W. Campbell.

Expressions of interest in attending this 2-day workshop have now closed, although the final outcome is open to the public. Please contact Sarah-Vyne Vassallo, Arts Development Officer, tel: 02 9251 6499 ext 110 (Thursday and Friday only) or email artsdevelopment@aarts.net.au

Second Skin will be shown in Bay 17. For more information about this event or to attend the evening performance  6.30 pm Monday 5th November, visit the Accessible Arts website link.
