Dance Teaching for the 21st Century

Hosted by the Royal Academy of Dance (Sydney), Dance Teaching for the 21st Century: Practice & Innovation seeks to bring together dance teachers, educators, researchers, historians and scholars from across a variety of dance disciplines to discuss practices and innovations within the context of dance teaching in this century.

Held at the University of New South Wales, CBD Campus from 10 – 11 December 2016, the keynote address will be from Michelle Groves, Director Faculty of Education and Training, Royal Academy of Dance.

The conference will feature Australian and international perspectives from the UK, USA, New Zealand, Singapore and India and also includes practical workshops focused on repertoire, as well as inclusive and somatic practices.

From 12:30 – 13:30 on Sunday 11 December, Dance Integrated Australia’s Creative Director, Philip Channells will lead a practical workshop, «PERFECT (im)PERFECTIONS – creating dance with people from diverse backgrounds». Suitable for all ages and dance experience.
