DansiT – Senter for Dansekunst i Sør-Trøndelag is a resource center for theatrical dance in Trondheim and Trøndelag in Norway. As a major centre for regional dance, DansiT manages and operates production facilities for dancing on Svartlamon. DansiT organize training for professional dancers as well as holding workshops and seminars for dance artists, residence for visiting choreographers and companies and organizes among other Åpen Scene for Dans and the Multiplié Dansefestival.
DansiT mission is to support and strengthen the dance arts in Trondheim and Trøndelag through being:
– A mouthpiece and a knowledge bank for dance
– A supportive production system for choreographers and companies
– An expertise developer of dance artists
– An information center for non-established and newly established dance artists
– An impulse to diversity and cooperation in the dance arts in our region
Multiplié Dansefestival is a biennial event. The festival will be held for the sixth time in the spring of 2014, from 2 – 6 April. Dance Integrated Australia has been invited to participate in this event and brings Creative Director, Philip Channells to Trondheim to create Perfect (im)Perfections with local collaborators Arnfinn Killingtveit and Trond Wiger and dancers from the Danseteateret 55+ and the Danselaboratoriet.
Joining the collaborators will be Australian dancer, Katina Olsen (ex-Bangarra Dance Theatre) who will be working closely with Channells to develop her understanding of community dance practice. Olsen, whose great grandfather in Norwegian, is a recipient of the 2014 JUMP mentoring program.
