Dwell – a triple bill

Dwell - a triple bill

Sprung Integrated Dance Theatre, R.E.D. Inc. and Dance Integrated Australia present DWELL – A TRIPLE BILL… an art exhibition, three new short dance works and a panel discussion with a Q&A. This disability-inclusive arts project based on the NSW Northern Rivers region, is an exciting new collaboration between choreographers Philip Channells (Artistic Director of dwell – a triple bill), Sue Whiteman & Philip Blackman.

The starting point for this creative process initially began during an immersion week in April this year. Each choreographer responded to the work of three R.E.D. Inc. visual artists: Mbatha Nguta, Christopher Wilkinson and Nathan Gooley to generate original movement vocabulary which interconnects with the overarching creative concept. All three artists will exhibit their work at the Byron Community Centre as part of the event.

A cast of 27 performers ranging in ages from 6 – 60 will participate in a week-long rehearsal process which will involve local and interstate collaboration including: musical composition/sound score from Tralala Blip (Lismore), costume design by Sean Campbell from 17eightynine (Adelaide) and photography by Katrina Folkwell (Byron Bay).

DWELL – A TRIPLE BILL is a once-off event not to be missed.

When: Saturday 28 September 2013 (art exhibition official opening 6pm – dance performance 7pm – post show forum/panel discussion and Q&A – 8pm)
