CALL FOR ARTISTS / PRACTICE AND PLAY

Call for Artists: Join this new creative initiative for the Northern Rivers region!

Inspired by recommendations made in the Dance Sector Uplift report on the independent dance sector in the Northern Rivers, Philip Channells (Dance Integrated Australia) is thrilled to launch the ‘PRACTICE AND PLAY’ (P&P) series.

What is PRACTICE AND PLAY?

‘PRACTICE AND PLAY’ brings creative practitioners together to move, dance, and create while getting to know each other as artists and individuals. It combines physical activities with social interactions, featuring site-specific movement workshops outdoors or in indoor venues like community halls, gymnasiums, and dance studios. Each session ends with a shared meal and conversation time, fostering community and creativity.

Why Join?

This initiative addresses the report’s findings on the need for more opportunities for local artists to connect, create, and showcase their work. By leading a P&P event, you can share your practice, experiment with new ideas, and engage with fellow artists and dance enthusiasts in your community.

Get Involved

We invite local artists to bring their unique style and vision to their town or village by hosting a ‘PRACTICE AND PLAY’ event. Join us in celebrating the diversity and talent of the Northern Rivers dance scene. Express your interest today and become a part of this dynamic series, enriching our region with your artistic leadership and innovation.
